Does a car buying service actually save you money?
I want to buy a new saturn vue & the dealer says they are a set price -the no haggle saturn philosophy.
Does it pay to have AAA or other car buying service, price one for me? AAA says that they will automatically save you the 1,000 in the extra fees the dealer charges, if nothing else.
Some car buying services will save some people money. Depending on your negotiation skills, you may do better without paying them.

I don't know how Saturn dealer prices cars. My bank which gave me financing also offered "free" buying service. After we picked the car we wanted, we called the bank, and the bank and the dealer negotiated the price. Can't remember how much, but it was around $2,000 off. It was Nissan. Again, I don't know how Saturn prices their cars. If they don't negotiate, you don't want to pay for the service. Yahoo Auto has a pretty good information on car prices, too.
