Is there any good guides to installing a new car stereo?

I am going to buy a new car stereo and am thinking of saving money and installing it myself, i have looked and have found no obvious way of getting my old one out. should i do it myself or get someone else to do it? is there any good guides out there explaining what to do.

If you dont know how to do it, or aren't familiar my advice is to let someone else do it. Paying someone $75-100 to install it will save you a ton of headaches.

normally stereos have a release leaver donw either side. its a small gap and if you shove a small screwdriver in it, it should release it from the surround.

also make sure you take note of the wires. if your stereo has a sticker with a guide to the wiring, then make sure you label all the wires connecting into the back of the stereo so when you come to install the new one, you know what goes where.

also make sure you have disconnected the car battery before you start.
