What are some car buying tips? New and Used?

i agree research your model. ask questions about timing belt changes (should be done every 60-80k miles) take it for the all imprtant test drive and make sure the heaters work, sounds silly i know but if they dont you could be in for a head gasket problem. check for smoke from the exhaust a light bit of black smoke on an old diesel is normal but if its petrol you could have injector problems. unscrew the oil cap and check it is clean any yellowish gunk on it then walk away. check the radiator water (before your test drive) and make sure there are no signs of oil or rusty water marks under the bonnett

never ever trust a car if it is running when you turn up. check all electrics work. also check for overspray on door hinges etc. signs of previous damage. its always good to get a hpi/car data check on any car.

hope this helps if you need any more info email me i will do my best to help

always take the car to a mechanic you trust and have them do a used car inspection. that will give you something to go on.
