Buying A Used Car Tips?

So within the next 1-2 weeks i will be buying my first car, yipee. Im thinking about taking out a £500 loan so i can get a better car, but anyway, can anybody give me any tips on used cars, as in what to look for when i go and look at them and test drive them. Any help will be appreciated, thanks

Hi for £ 500 you are not going to get a perfect car realise that from the out set .

Look at the adds in autotrader for the older car with one owner and full service history they are few and far between but at least you will be getting a car thats been looked after that way .

Try and buy an older persons car they wont have thrashed it all over the place .

TRy and look at the area you are buying your car from good area normally good car

Beware of " arfur dalys " i think you will know what i mean on that

And i wish you the best of luck

check for rust and holes under carpets, never meet anyone in a carpark, make sure engine is cold when you get there, look under oil filler cap for a white gunge, it could be head gasket if that is there, i think you can download an aa check list online mate

If it's your first car you would be better to take a friend or relative who knows about cars.

Don't just pay the AA to check the car. Join them first as you will need them sooner or later with a £500 car.

I guess you should check the insurance quotes for the car before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.noneto.com
Such very cheap used cars usually have very high insurance rates.
